Epidemiological Investigation is Underway of the 2nd Confirmed COVID Case on the LNS

LOCAL NEWS - DECEMBER 11, 2020 - Epidemiological Investigation Underway of 2nd Confirmed Case of COVID-19 on the LNS

The CISSS de la Côte-Nord updated their website today at 11:00am Quebec time with covid information for the territory from santé publique. At that time, there was 1 new case announced today in the MRC du Golfe du Saint-Laurent (Lower North Shore). As well, there were also 8 other cases announced on the North Shore, bringing today's total to 9 new cases for the whole territory.

Speaking by email this afternoon with Pascal Paradis, Communications Advisor of the CISSS de la Côte-Nord, the following update was given by Mr. Paradis:

"There is a COVID-19 case on the Lower North Shore. The person followed the recommendations of the entry management protocol. The epidemiological investigation is underway. The person is in isolation."

Keep in mind that this may be the only information given about the new case on the Lower North Shore today, as the CISSS de la Côte-Nord previously mentioned privacy in their press conferences since the 1st confirmed case was announced on the Lower North Shore back in November. The CISSS reminded the population at that time of the importance of respecting the privacy of anyone confirmed of having COVID-19, giving them support, and to not have any community discrimination.
