Christmas Shopping on the Lower North Shore might be a little more difficult this year with the delays in the mail and you may already be scratching your head on what to get Uncle Henry. If you are like me, you may be thinking already about getting an early start on your Christmas gift purchases. So here are some great ideas to consider as you begin Christmas gift giving preparations:

1. Why not consider to buy your gifts locally this year and support the local business entrepreneurs! This can be a great way to help out local businesses who have seen a decrease in sales during months of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  Begin preparing your gift list and start your shopping early to beat the last-minute rush of the holiday season. Lots of local businesses offer gift card or gift certificate options too, so that your loved one can choose when they want to shop at a later date. If you are concerned about shopping in store, contact the local retailers and ask if they can accommodate a delivery option for you to avoid large crowds if you are uncomfortable.
2. Still thinking of making purchases online? Keep in mind that with the pandemic, Canada Post and ground delivery services are experiencing significant delays, so be sure to get your orders in as soon as possible so that you are not left waiting for gifts on Christmas Eve. We all know that holiday mail already encounters delays as the weeks to Christmas draw closer, so shop now and avoid the setbacks!
3. Get in on the holiday fun with your children and consider making some homemade crafts for loved ones. There are 1000’s of great ideas on Pinterest, and nothing says love like a gift made from the heart!
