LNS Representatives to Receive Assistance from the Quebec Government in Request to Newfoundland Government for Access to the Island

The whole of the Lower North Shore is not connected by road link to the rest of Quebec, Kegaska connects to the rest of the province to the west and Old Fort to Blanc-Sablon has 69 km of road which connects to Labrador

LOCAL NEWS - JULY 30, 2020 - Quebec Government to Assist LNS Representatives in Request to Have Access to Newfoundland File

An interview update from the Warden of the MRC du Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Blanc-Sablon, Wanda Beaudoin, regarding:​

• Update on the status of the proposal request letter sent by Warden Randy Jones of the MRC du Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent to the office of Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, Chief Medical Officer of Health for Newfoundland and Labrador, to have the Lower North Shore granted less restrictive access to Newfoundland island. Officials of the Government of Quebec have now taken over the file.
