July 23, 2019:
We are particularly proud to kick off here in Blanc Sablon one of the largest digital infrastructure projects in TELUS history, which will eventually provide all 14 communities in the Lower North Shore region with both high-speed Internet and mobile phone service. With this project, we will increase the available bandwidth by 40 for hundreds of families and businesses in the region. People will have access to average speeds ranging from 25 to 75 Mbps similar to the best technologies in major urban centres.
Communities in Blanc-Sablon, Bonne-Espérance and the region will have access to our high speed and wireless LTE network by end of year. We are currently doing soil, wind and physical environment analyses. These will enable us to design a structure that is adapted to and in harmony with the environment, then start the construction work.
As for new rates, we are in the midst or finalizing all the details of the plans and are looking forward to sharing more details with you closer to the launch date. Be ensure that our team will support customers in choosing the right package. Moreover, we’re working on opening a point of contact in Blanc-Sablon. It was imperative for TELUS to have a physical presence in the community. This will be the most remote TELUS store in Canada, and we are particularly proud to have it here. We look forward to giving you more details.
